Participation in Scholarship Programs


WKSU's Walt Clarke Fellowship-Graduate student scholarship program
Participant(s): Numerous members of WKSU staff

Other activities designed to disseminate information as to employment opportunities to job candidates who might otherwise be unaware of such opportunities

 

WKSU has increased its diversity resources for posting available positions, as noted in the positions which have been filled, including adding area minority churches to our vacancy dissemination list in order to reach job candidates who might otherwise be unaware of such opportunities.

Assistant General Manager Deborah Frazier serves on Kent State University's Diversity Advisory Committee.

Internship Program

WKSU is an annual host of a Senior Experience Program, where an area high school senior spends three weeks job shadowing.

Participation in at least four events or programs sponsored by educational institutions relating to career opportunities in broadcasting

Periodically through the year, WKSU staff members host middle and high school students for a day as a part of their school job experience curriculum.

Training Programs for Station Personnel

Assistant General Manager Deborah Frazier and Financial Director Bernadine Zapytowski attended a Workplace Ethics workshop.
