WKSU MAKES PROGRAMMING CHANGES TO SUNDAYS

WKSU MAKES PROGRAMMING CHANGES TO SUNDAYS
'SPEAKING OF FAITH' AND 'LIVE FROM FOLK ALLEY' ADDED
Friday March 24, 2006

WKSU launched a new Sunday line-up on March 26, adding two new programs and replacing "The Next Big Thing," which has ceased production. Changes include shifting "Other Voices" to 6 a.m., followed by newcomer "Speaking of Faith" at 7 a.m. "Live from Folk Alley" takes over the 7 p.m. hour, expanding WKSU's Sunday night folk music programming to five hours.

"Other Voices" presents an hour of long-form documentary and journalistic works drawn from premiere radio producers in the U.S. and around the world. WKSU Program Director Vincent Duffy focuses on a variety of engaging and timely topics as he selects pieces that are typically longer than traditional newscasts can accommodate.

Host Krista Tippett puts the focus on the personal beliefs and faith-based practices of Americans each week on "Speaking of Faith." Tippett brings experience as an international journalist and a master's of divinity degree from Yale University to her role of program creator and moderator of an on-going conversation surrounding theology, spirituality, ethics and faith and the role they play in modern life.

Introduced by WKSU in 2003, FolkAlley.com has become the online destination for thousands of folk music fans around the world. Hosted by Chris Boros, "Live from Folk Alley" offers hour-long live concerts featuring many of today's folk stars, most originally broadcast on Folk Alley. "Live from Folk Alley" joins weekend folk music programming with host Jim Blum to create a five-hour block of premium folk music every Sunday evening.
