WKSU was recognized with 15 awards from Ohio Professional Writers, Inc., the state affiliate of the National Federation of Press Women (NFPW), April 28 in Canton at the National First Ladies' Library during the organization's annual spring convention. WKSU staff members who were honored with first-place awards were automatically entered into the national Communications Contest sponsored by NFPW.
     First place awards went to:
Radio Broadcast Categories:
•     Prepared Report, Reporter/Producer Daniel Hockensmith for "WASP Pilots"

•     Special Programming, Reporter/Producer Vivian Goodman for "Drugs in Prison"

•     Special Reporting Series, the WKSU News Staff for "Here Goes the Neighborhood"

•     Interview, Renita Jablonski for "Father's Day in Iraq"

•     Presentation, Jablonski for "Your Way Home"

Marketing/Public Information Categories:
