Ruth Krise
Senior Development Associate

Ruth KriseHaving been employed by profit as well as nonprofit organizations, Ruth Krise claims that she “definitely” has gained more personal satisfaction from the nonprofit side of her professional life. As far as Ruth is concerned, Northeast Ohio’s cultural community is comprised of “a group of people who are fun as well as intelligent. Plus, people really love the arts in our region, and there are so many who are dedicated to maintaining a strong arts community in Northeast Ohio.” And, so, Ruth did not hesitate when she was given an opportunity to join WKSU’s sales team, working primarily with cultural nonprofit organizations. “I love classical music and have been a longtime WKSU listener and supporter. The idea of working at the station to support cultural organizations in our area was irresistible.” A University of Akron graduate with a bachelor’s degree in marketing, Ruth spent the majority of her professional career working in the direct marketing field. Before joining WKSU, she was the vice president of sales and marketing for two organizations, managing direct response programs that included domestic and international direct mail, Internet, and catalog marketing. She was also the director of marketing for Ohio Ballet. Currently, Ruth is a freelance marketing and public relations professional for GroundWorks Dancetheater. Ruth’s two teenaged daughters share her love of the arts. But although Ruth says that she “can only appreciate the talents of others,” both of her daughters are performers. Her older daughter is a ballet trainee at Nashville Ballet, while her younger is an avid piano and cello student. Ruth’s other interests include biking and hiking the towpath, playing golf with her husband (as time allows), and spending time with her three dogs.
