Pam Anderson
Director of Philanthropic Giving
Pam Anderson came to WKSU in 1995 as assistant director of development in charge of development-related communications and special events, and she was promoted in 2001 to the position of director of communications. As WKSU's director of communications, Pam wrote and produced development-related print materials; coordinated special events; prepared grant requests; and was liaison to WKSU's 30-person Community Advisory Council. In 2006, Pam was named WKSU's director of philanthropic giving. In this role, she is responsible for securing major gifts from individuals for station operations and special initiatives. Pam holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Northeast Ohio of Fine Arts Program (NEOMFA), a consortium writing program with Kent State University, Youngstown State University, Cleveland State University and the University of Akron. She also received a Master of Arts degree in English literature from Kent State University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and writing from Hiram College, and an associate degree in applied business from Kent State University. She was the Sound of the Future Capital Campaign manager, raising more than $5 million dollars for the station in outright as well as planned gifts. The campaign successfully concluded in September 2011. She has been an active member of the Kent State University community, having served as University advisor for the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity, Iota Chapter, from 1992 until 2005 and serving on Symposium Committees for Kent State's 25th and 30th Commemorations of May 4. She is a member of the University’s Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award Selection Committee and the Wick Poetry Center Advisory Board. She also is a member of the selection committee for the Helen and Laura Krout Memorial Ohioana Poetry Award. Of her tenure at WKSU, Pam notes that her personal goals of giving back to the community mesh very well with WKSU's focus on serving Northeast Ohio with the best in public radio. “I feel very fortunate to work at WKSU, where creativity is encouraged and rewarded. This is an exciting time in public radio—and I know that everyone at WKSU is prepared to take on new challenges so that the people who live and work in Northeast Ohio can continue to enjoy our programming.”
