Danielle Wiggins
Producer, The Regina Brett Show
Joining the WKSU staff has been somewhat of a homecoming for me. No, I have never worked for WKSU but my first paying media job was as an intern with “All Things Considered” in Washington, D.C. It was there that I was introduced to the professionalism and standard of excellence that are hallmarks of NPR programming. There was no sitting around getting coffee! Every work day I tracked down newsmakers, pre-interviewed them and prepared them to converse with ATC hosts: Robert Siegel, Michele Norris and Melissa Block. It’s funny because that job so many years ago prepared me for what I’m doing now as the producer of The Regina Brett Show. Every work day I track down people who have the ability to impact lives, pre-interview them and prepare them to converse with Regina Brett. I absolutely love my job!
Besides the short stint in Washington and a couple years at the University of Missouri-Columbia, I am a life-long resident of Northeast Ohio. I am committed to this region. Before joining WKSU I worked as a Discussion Leader for the Gannett owned site Cleveland.momslikeme.com. I also worked as an associate producer at WEWS-TV in Cleveland. I am a two-time graduate of Kent State University. My undergraduate degree is in Broadcast Journalism. I concentrated on Media Management for my graduate studies. Enough on the credentials – what you should know about me is I just want to tell stories that resonate deep within the heart. I consider it an honor and a privilege to serve Northeast Ohio through the media.
When I’m not at WKSU, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children. I’ve learned through my church that relationships are everything. I look forward to building relationships with as many WKSU listeners as possible.
