The rise of the teenage culture through the 20th and now into the 21st century produced MTV and popularized activities like instant messaging and file sharing. For two weeks, the WKSU News Room explores today's youth movement with Teenagers: The Millennial Generation. The news staff will examine issues faced by today's adolescents, focusing on national trends for high schoolers as well as situations that are unique to growing up in Northeast Ohio. With factors like the cultural shift towards youth and a constant and easy access to technology greatly altering the landscape of earlier generations, the series attempts to discover how the lives of teens in 2004 are different.
Teenagers: The Millennial Generation is presented with support from The Center for Community Solutions.
