Governor and Democratic lawmakers push for impeachment
Wednesday, May 14, 2008
Governor Ted Strickland and most Ohio Democratic officeholders told Attorney General Marc Dann 10 days ago to quit or be impeached.
When he refused to step down, Democratic lawmakers got to work on their articles of impeachement.
And despite speculation that Dann was trying to figure out a way to step down, those lawmakers introduced those articles of impeachment in the Ohio House yesterday.
Among the three architects of the artciles is Mark Okey, a Stark County Ohio Democrat, whose district touches on some of the territory of Dann's old Senate district around Youngstown.
Okey spoke with WKSU's M.L.Schultze this morning about the impeachment step.
