Obama campaigns on energy; audience focuses on more
Youngstown crowd looks for details
Tuesday, August 5, 2008

Barack Obama's trip to Youngstown this (Tuesday) morning was billed as a town hall on energy. But the 2 thousand people packed into the Austintown Fitch High School gym were as focused on jobs, education, Iraq and even term limits as they were on energy.

Listener Comments:

It did not take much for the young woman to side with Obama. Is she not aware of how he became the presumptive nominee. Obama is billed as a great orator but his speaking off the cuff leaves much to be desired. This Hillary supporter will not vote for the arrogant, racist no matter how much Hillary campaigns for him. I do not know what is behind that but I am sure she has her reasons. I joined the PUMAs not because I am against Obama, which I am, but because of the devious current leaders of the democratic party.

Yeah, he should admit a mistake for voting in favor of Cheney's energy bill and qualify his comments on the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. The people can forgive past mistakes if truly regretted, and the SPR is a complex issue presented as a simple solution. He should hand out some tire gauges; that was a useful suggestion (though 100-Years-War McCane mentioned it first) and it's about time someone asked the people to do something for themselves.
