Northeast Ohio ODOT scandal led to changes in highway department
Charges coming Friday in ODOT garage bribery, sex case

| Charges will be filed tomorrow in the multi-million dollar bribery case against former ODOT officials from the district garage in Garfield Heights and against the contractors they did business with. From 2000 through 2007, prosecutors say the Ohio Department of Transportation employees steered more than eleven-million dollars in state highway contracts to friends, family and business partners. In exchange they allegedly received cash, trips and sex with strippers.
Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecuting Attorney Paul Soucie says seven people will be charged tomorrow, and two more this coming Tuesday. He would not comment on the pending charges. But the Ohio Department of Transportation says it has changed some business practices to deter such crimes.
