U.S. Monday, August 13, 2012 Ohio Liberty Coalition: Ryan is solid pick VP candidate has strong fiscal plans, says group president Story by BILL RICE |
| | |
| The presumptive GOP presidential candidate officially announced Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan as his vice-presidential pick Saturday.
Among those cheering is Tom Zawistowksi, president of the Ohio Liberty Coalition. He says he and his fellow Tea Partiers were surprised at the boldness of the pick, but are pleased because Ryan has aggressively promoted fiscal responsibility and limiting the growth of government. Zawistoski says with Ryan on the ticket those issues are now front and center…even if the plan still needs work. |
“And we’re going to have a real discussion. Because this is the most important issue of our time. We are broke and we need to address this, or no one’s going to get the health care they want , and no one’s going to have a job. This is serious business, and the Ryan plan—for all its flaws—is an important step in the right direction.”
Zawistowski says it’ll be interesting to see how Ryan’s budget plan and Romney’s come together.
Meanwhile, Democrats charge Ryan’s policies will only repeat those of the Bush Administration, threatening the economy and middle-class.
