Ohio Friday, January 18, 2013 Kasich moving State of the State to Lima Speech will again be away from Statehouse by WKSU's STATEHOUSE CORRESPONDENT BILL COHEN |
 Reporter Bill Cohen | | |
In The Region: Last year, Governor John Kasich did something no other Ohio governor had done in modern times: he delivered his annual state-of-the-state address somewhere besides the state capitol building in Columbus. He gave the speech a hundred miles away in Steubenville.
Now, it’s clear the governor wants to do a repeat performance, in another place far away from the capital. Statehouse Correspondent Bill Cohen has the details, just released, about this year’s state-of-the-state. |
| The timing of Governor’s Kasich’s speech – set for 6:30 in the evening of February 19th --- has a political angle. That’s the same day that the Cuyahoga County Executive Ed Fitzgerald planned to give his own “state-of-the-county” speech at noon. Fitzgerald is a Democrat who’s been considering challenging Governor Kasich in next year’s election. |
