Celebrate Independence Day in Northeast Ohio

Mark the nation's most patriotic holiday with music and flag waving. From Wooster and Canton to Cleveland, Kent and Akron, Northeast Ohio celebrates the Independence Day holiday with a variety of concerts featuring Classical, Jazz and Folk artists performing under exploding pyrotechnic displays. Most events are free and are suitable for all ages and may be especially appreciated by lovers of Sousa marches and Tchaikovsky's anthemic 1812 Overture.

Fairlawn Fireworks & Concert 
July 4
Bicentennial Park, Fairlawn
Fireworks July 4 at 10 p.m.
A two hour performance by the Brass Band of Western Reserve will begin at 8 p.m., following with a brilliant fireworks display. The Fourth of July parade begins at 4:30 p.m.

Akron Rib, White & Blue - 4th of July Rib Festival
June 30-July 4
Lock 3: Downtown Akron
Fireworks July 4 at 9:45p.m.
This year, twelve rib vendors from 2 countries and 5 states compete for cash prizes and bragging rights in the “Best Of” competition. The Akron Symphony Orchestra Pops will play on July 4th at 8 p.m. 

Cedar Point - Light Up the Point

Park admission required
Take a ride on one of the park's famous coasters during Cedar Point's extended hours for the holiday. There will be fireworks over the lake on Tuesday. Also, buy a ticket for Red, White & Boogie.

Nelson Ledges Quarry Park - Freedom Fest with Cheech & Chong

Akron Symphony Orchestra Pops Concert at Lock 3
July 4 at 8 p.m.

Fireworks at 9:45 p.m.
The evening will feature a salute to America and a variety of popular favorites, including Lowden’s Armed Forces Salute, Sousa’s Washington Post March, the theme from Rocky, and the March from Raiders of the Lost Ark. The performance will close with The Stars and Stripes Forever.  

Kent Heritage Festival

Fireworks at 10 p.m.
Over 100 craft and information booths + food vendors providing all kinds of delicious food. Entertainment on 3 stages. Vintage Car Show. 

The Cleveland Orchestra Star Spangled Spectacular
June 30 at 9 p.m.
Public Square, Downtown Cleveland
Continuing its tradition since 1989, The Cleveland Orchestra will present a concert in Downtown Cleveland. Brought to you by Cuyahoga Arts & Culture and led by conductor Loras John Schissel, will include patriotic favorites, Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, and more.  

Blossom Festival Band - A Salute to America
July 3 and 4 at 8 p.m.
Blossom Music Center
Blossom’s traditional, star-spangled celebration with the Blossom Festival Band features a mix of patriotic Sousa marches, Broadway favorites, an Armed Forces Salute, and more - concluding with the 1812 Overture!

Ohio Light Opera - Pops Concert
July 4 at 7 p.m.
Public Square, Wooster
In cooperation with Main Street Wooster, the Ohio Light Opera orchestra and members of the performing company present the organization's annual outdoor pops concert in downtown Wooster, featuring a selection of patriotic tunes.

A Monumental 4th in Canton
July 4 at 9:45 p.m.
McKinley Monument, Canton
Grounds open at 7 p.m. with a performance by the Greater Canton Concert Band before the fireworks.
