One of the world’s most distinguished dance companies is coming to Kent State University to celebrate the legacy of a local composer. The Martha Graham Dance Company is reviving a landmark work for a performance honoring Kent State emeritus professor Halim El-Dabh.

Kent State’s Board of Trustees met Friday and set major funding and planning initiatives in motion.  It also approved a bonus for university president Beverly Warren.  The Board convened at the Aeronautic & Technology Building, opened last year on the Science Corridor of the Kent main campus.

Following a national search, Wendy Turner has been selected to serve as the new executive director and general manager of WKSU, Kent State University’s award-winning NPR-affiliated radio station. Turner currently serves as vice president of digital and technical operations at Chicago Public Media. She will begin her new role at WKSU on Oct. 31, 2016.
