The auditor of state has the power to look over the books of college and university foundations, according to Ohio’s attorney general.  Statehouse correspondent Karen Kasler reports that opinion comes over the objections of three universities.

A study of Kent State University’s athletic program is complete, and no sports are being cut. In fact, women’s lacrosse will be added in 2018.   The results of the nearly two-year review of athletics was presented to the university’s board of trustees today. 

Men’s college basketball heats up on Friday when Kent State and Akron face each other in the first of two games between the rivals in as many weeks. Akron is in first place in the Mid-American Conference East Division with Kent State two games behind.

 Kent State University and the Cleveland Metropolitan School District are working together to give high school students the chance to earn up to $4,800 in scholarships for good grades in college prep courses. The scholarships will be offered through Raise Labs, a nonprofit company that awards small scholarships to students based on grades.
